I was on tenterhooks over the weekend because I knew that the recording sessions for the production of my audio books was due to take place on Saturday. Needless to say I spent much of Saturday having thoughts wandering how it was going and if there would be any delays. Sunday, of course, was spent trying to figure out how soon I might receive the recordings for review and Monday, well, it was Monday.
Imagine my surprise then when on Monday afternoon I received an email with links to download the audio files! I seriously thought I’d have to wait for a few days at least. But no, there they were, all three books in WAV file format. Needless to say I couldn’t get them downloaded fast enough!
I have to say it’s a very strange experience hearing your own work read back to you by a professional. It’s often stated that audio books bring stories to life and I have to say that I completely agree. The fact that the chap reading my books is an absolute master only amplifies that truth. No, I’m not revealing who the reader is yet I’m afraid. That news will come on a future post, maybe even with a couple of short snippets for you to have a listen to.
For now though it’s fair to say that I’m over the moon with the recordings and am already embarking upon the next stage of the process of making them available to buy through Audible, Amazon, iTunes etc.
More news coming soon.
